After over 60k views combined for the last singles it felt only right to release a new song. This time Malevolent choose to cover Assasin’s Creed classic "Valhalla Calling", originally by Miracle Of Sound.

<< Our idea was to release some extra music to keep the momentum we created with the release of our EP. A cover was a logical choice. We chose this one because the energy and atmosphere around this song fits with the vibe we tried to create with our other songs. And also because we already used the (post apocalyptic) Viking theme in some of our previous videos.
By coincidence Feuerschwanz released a metal version of Valhalla Calling only a few days before our release. And as expected a lot of people are comparing our versions. But so far only very positive reactions, and there seems to be no "Valhalla Calling Fatigue".
This song is extra special for me because I already was a fan of the original, and also of some of the other (cover) versions that were already released on YT. But also because I did the full production of this song by myself in my own studio. I was hoping people would also love the sound and production of this song, when comparing them to our previous releases, mixed by the big time producer Joost Van den Broek. But as already mentioned, the reactions have been amazing, both on our take on the song as on the production and sound.
We are working on a lot of new songs, I cannot say too much at this stage, but I can reveal that we are very probably going to have a real duet on one of the upcoming songs. The production of a vinyl version of our EP is ready to be released and it's going to be very special. I know some people are waiting for this. We had some production issues and delays, but finally we are close to start sending them out. We will probably reveal more details before the end of April (2024)... >>

Malevolent is a cinematic/symphonic Metal band hailing from Belgium/Spain. For fans of epic movie-like orchestration, astonishing female vocals, and deep death grunts. The band released its first self-titled EP in alliance with Necktwister on 21/12/2023.

Malevolent is a symphonic metal project from Nikolaas Van Riet, a composer, guitarist and producer.

The Malevolent EP is produced by Joost VandenBroek, known from his work with bands like Powerwolf, Epica and Blind guardian. The crazy talented Spanish singer Celica Soldream is the lead vocalist in this band. The EP will also feature guest vocals from Mark Jansen, composer, guitar player and singer in Epica.
