EP Review:

Traversus is a fresh and new band in the European metal/rock scene, with young musicians, but all musically and technically experienced, as we can tell from the well-crafted compositions and mature playing.

"The Only Way Is Through", is their debut EP, which dynamically introduces them to the rock and metal audience, leaving the best impressions aurally and visually from their live performances.

The debut EP consists of 5 tracks. Five wonderful and complex alternative metal compositions with a progressive rock style, flirting irresistibly with a few doses of stoner, doom and power metal.

In all 5 tracks we hear catchy riffs, amazing, virtuosic guitar solos, rich bass, skillful drums and beautiful melodic vocals that occasionally become revolutionary. The lyrics are thoughtful and realistic and thought-provoking.

As a whole the "The Only Way is Through" is a masterfully crafted EP in composition and lyrics with professional production, which will not leave any discerning fan of rock and metal music unmoved!

Bio:

Traversus is a young progressive metal band from the north of the Netherlands that draws its inspiration from bands like Karnivool, Leprous, and Muse. Lead singer and guitarist Madelief de Groot voices sharp criticism of human behaviour and lays bare her own emotions.

Heavy riffs and melodic solos from lead guitarist Joey Wessels are combined with the tight foundation by bassplayer Mika Linde and drummer Liam de Groot. The band makes music that is cleverly composed and arranged, but still has catchy melodic vocals.

In September 2023 the band released their debut EP “The Only Way Is Through”. The band recorded the Ep in co-operation with producer Joost van den Broek (Epica, Powerwolf). In Januari 2023 the band played at Eurosonic in Groningen. Furthermore the band played at Bevrijdingsfestival (Assen), SPY festival (Emmen), Hello festival (Emmen), Graspop (Baflo) and Packhalle Open Air (DE)
