Album Review:

Needless is a Hungarian Prog/Thrash/Death Metal band with twenty years of musical history in the European metal scene, with a significant discography and with the two previous albums being a combination of the three above genres, without deviating from this pattern.

Their new album "Premonition" is quite different from their previous releases. It sounds more mature and more complex in terms of composition. The death element is here and is the basic element that all compositions rely on, and with great mastery on this basis the band has embroidered many unique elements that make each composition special.

The album opens with "Derelict", a dizzying composition on the verge of death/black, "Metatrons in Sunken Arks" which begins to develop progressive elements on the death base, to reach the special and complex "Twilight Cradle" with intensely heavy electronic elements, a solo of wonderful distorted bass, and with a subtle black touch, to move on to the atmospheric prog/death "Constellations", with a melodic riff at the beginning and end, and a recital of wonderful and demanding vocal performance.

"As Our Citadels Burn" is a complex prog/death composition where the avant-garde vocals steal the show. "Dark Epiphany" is a synthetic revelation. In this composition, Needless show that they are not limited by musical boundaries, since they successfully experiment by combining jazz elements with the use of saxophone on a progressive death base with black elements, many technical and electronic parts and a fade out ending.

"The Outer Reach" takes us from slow to fast tempo also with avant-garde vocals and many electronic elements (piano sound), and the last composition of the album, "Worlds Forgotten, Dreams Undone" which is atmospheric, melodic and at the same time wild and skillfully combines all the elements of the other compositions, giving it the special place of the ideal finale.

In summary, in this third album, Needless capture their musical genius by creating a multifaceted album beyond the usual of this genre.
They use the death music model correctly to embroider on it, as I said at the beginning, eight progressive compositions with rich technical and electronic parts, accompanied by multifaceted drums and a discreet but still present bass, placement of various sound effects that add from romantic to eerie atmosphere, wonderful guitar riffs with virtuoso performance and amazing vocals with a rich range.

Sophisticated, demanding and complex, the album "Premonition" offers metal music lovers a special acoustic experience in terms of composition, in a cosmic journey, beyond the musical boundaries we knew so far, significantly expanding the form of metal music!

Excellent!
Complete! 10/10
