Edmonton's Calling All Captains Release New Single “Blood For Blood” (Co-Written with Tom Denney of A Day to Remember)

New EP "The Things That I’ve Lost" Out January 9 via New Damage Records

Edmonton, AB – Canadian punk-rock mainstays Calling All Captains return with their searing new single “Blood For Blood,” out November 6 via New Damage Records. The track marks the latest preview from their upcoming EP The Things That I’ve Lost, due January 9, 2026 — a collection that captures the band at their most raw and self-reflective.

Co-written with acclaimed songwriter Tom Denney (A Day to Remember, Pierce the Veil, Neck Deep), “Blood For Blood” finds the Edmonton-based quartet pushing their sound further than ever before — a blistering mix of post-hardcore grit, pop-punk melody, and emotional weight.

“This song is an imaginary confrontation between you and the worst version of yourself,” explains the band. “It takes place at the end of your life, as you reconcile with your choices — both good and evil. It’s as if you’re holding onto the notion that you aren’t that type of person. Eventually, you have to come to terms with the corner of your mind called darkness. Understanding the darkness inside you can be a terrifying but freeing experience, even if it can cause internal struggle. This song represents the struggle of conflicting emotions within one soul, and how those emotions affect our choices — both good and evil.”

“Blood For Blood” was recorded with longtime collaborator Quinn Cyrankiewicz (Royal Tusk) at The Audio Department in Edmonton, AB, mixed by Tim Creviston, and mastered by Stuart McKillop (Rain City Recorders).

Fronted by Luc Gauthier (vocals) with Connor Dawkins (guitar/vocals), Brad Bremner (guitar/vocals), and Tim Wilson (drums), Calling All Captains have carved a reputation for transforming struggle into something cathartic — channeling vulnerability through raw power and melodic precision.

“This is the most personal release we’ve ever put out,” adds Gauthier. “These songs came from a place of reflecting on everything we’ve been through, personally and as a band. It’s raw, but it’s real. And I think people will feel that.”

"The Things That I’ve Lost" expands on the band’s evolution — seven songs that dig into themes of burnout, grief, and fractured identity while highlighting their most mature songwriting to date. With their explosive live energy and emotionally charged sound, Calling All Captains continue to prove why they’re one of the most exciting forces in modern punk rock.
